Greatswords, as players have gotten to know them thus far in "Dark Souls 3," are now changing.

In the latest patch released for the game, developers have targeted the Greatsword in particular as a weapon that needs to be adjusted.

It's unclear exactly how the latest patch affects the Greatswords inside the game, though it's likely just balanced them out in order to facilitate improved gameplay.

Beyond balancing the Greatswords, the new patch also tweaks the battle performance of both the Dancer's Enchanted Sword as well as the Winged Knight Twinaxes.

Both the Soul's Greatsword and the Farron Flashsword have also been affected by the latest "Dark Souls 3" update.

Some locations inside the game have also been changed by the arrival of the new patch.

Lastly, the new patch is also providing some bug fixes and balance tweaks, though the developers did not specify exactly what issues were being addressed.

Apparently, the latest patch is also causing some unintended problems, such as worsening framerates and even game crashes, but as Rock Paper Shotgun pointed out, these may also just be things gamers say whenever significant changes are being implemented.

While a new patch may have just been released for "Dark Souls 3," the game's first DLC pack may not be made available for at least a few months.

The first DLC pack for the punishing action RPG is scheduled to be released in the fall, Videogamer.com reported.

The second DLC pack will then be released sometime after the fall debut of the first add-on.

Specific contents of the game's DLC packs have not yet been announced, though they will reportedly include new bosses to conquer, new items to use and new locations to explore as well.

More details about "Dark Souls 3's" DLC packs and other future patches should be made available later this year.
