'Dark Souls 3' DLC release date rumors: Supposed samples of DLC concept art leaked online

(Dark Souls 3 web site)Announcement regarding a 'Dark Souls 3' DLC pack may be made next week

Some interesting images supposedly related to "Dark Souls 3's" DLC packs have made their way online recently, and they could be hinting at what fans should expect to see added to the game.

The recently leaked pieces of alleged concept art apparently came from a Japanese design house, according to Fextralife forums member "Drascoll."

The pieces of concept art show off some interesting items, including a suit of armor wrapped in tentacles.

A dragon-like creature is also depicted and it appears to be quite large, at least considering how small the player model appears to be situated next to it.

There's another curious creature that seems to resemble a giant slug, only with skulls adorning its torso.

It's unclear if these examples of supposed DLC concept art are actually indicative of future additions that may be coming to "Dark Souls 3," though the good news is that players will likely find out about that soon enough.

Just recently, the game's official Twitter account shared that a big announcement is set to be made on Aug. 24.

For what it's worth, the tweet doesn't directly say that the upcoming announcement will be about the game's DLC pack, though it's hard to imagine exactly what else may be shared other than details about that.

On top of that, the first DLC pack for the supremely-challenging game is also expected to be made available this fall, so it seems like the time is right for that eagerly anticipated announcement.

As noted in a Microsoft Store listing for the game's season pass, two DLC packs are expected to be made available, with one set to arrive soon, and the other currently tabbed for an early 2017 release.

Both DLC packs are also expected to add new maps, enemies and items.

Players will likely be able to purchase these DLC packs on their own or get them as part of "Dark Souls 3's" $24.99 season pass.
