'Dota 2' mods update: latest mod transforms the popular MOBA into a third-person shooter

The popular Massively Online Battle Arena game from Valve, "Dota 2," can now be playable on a third-person perspective other than the top-down traditional view thanks to a newly developed and discovered mod. In addition to the perspective, the said mod will also change the concept of the game to capture the flag.
According to the report from PC Gamer, the newly discovered and developed mod, dubbed as "Slayer of the Ancients," will let fans and players experience a whole new different "Dota 2" game that is, as said by the creator BMD on game's description, similar to Valve's "Team Fortress 2."
"Slayers of the Ancients (SOTA) is a capture-the-flag 3rd person shooter in the style of Team Fortress 2. It is highly experimental and makes heavy modification of the standard DOTA engine," the mod developer wrote on the Steam Workshop page.
The mechanics of "Slayers of the Ancients" or "SOTA" is pretty simple and straight forward. Being in capture the flag mod, the team must capture the enemy's flag which will earn them 35 points for it or by killing another player from the opposing team. The team must gather 200 points in order for them to win the game.
As for the characters available in the "Dota 2" mod, unfortunately, there are only three heroes to choose from and they are: Sniper, Juggernaut and Shadow Fiend (SF). Furthermore, each of these heroes will offer different skillsets like weapon usage, speeds, movement skills and jump characteristics.
Lastly, for the controls, the traditional, vanilla "Dota 2" game has complicated ones; however, the "SOTA," on the other hand, will use the traditional WASD keys for the movement, while the mouse and its buttons for the aiming as well as for shooting.
Fans can check out the mod for "Dota 2" and "Slayers of the Ancient" on Steam Workshop for downloads and change logs.
