Cloud9, one of the popular professional teams of "Dota 2," recently announced that the team is officially disbanding.

The news was first announced by Rasmus "Misery" Filipsen, who serves as the support of the team during "The International 2015" tournament. Misery stated on his stream via Gamespresso that he "can't say anything more than that. It's for the better, guys."

Aside from Filipsen, Cloud9's position 1 core player, Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao, also made a public statement regarding this issue. In his Tweet last Aug. 14, EternaLEnVy told the fans that "In memory of the old C9 roster. Please note that any player on the poster may not be in C9 next DotA Year."

The team's performance at the last "The International 2015" was a total surprise, considering that the team was made up of famous players (BigDaddy, b0ne7, EternaLEnVy, FATA- and MiSeRy). Cloud9 was first beaten by the Chinese team and second place holder, CDEC Gaming, who pushed them down to the lower bracket, according to the report by PC Gamer. Sadly, C9 was also beaten by Vici Gaming in that category, which left them with a score of 0-2. This placed the team in the 9th to 12th place in "The International 2015."

Luckily, despite the unfortunate news of the break up, team owner, Jack Etienne, reassured fans that C9 is not going anywhere; the team will just have a reshuffle in the roster and will soon have new members to compete for the next coming tournaments.

In his Tweet last Aug. 14, Etienne informed fans that "Yes, Cloud9 will remain in #Dota2. I'll miss our old team but I'm excited to create our new squad. TY EE, Misery, Fata, Bone, & BigDaddy!"

No official public statement has been released and other members, specifically Bone, FATA and BigDaddy, have yet to comment.
