The latest Dragon Ball Z animated film 'Resurrection of F' aired earlier last April in select theaters all over Japan, and an international release strategy was announced in a premiere event held in Tokyo. According to a report via Crunchy Roll, 'Resurrection of F' is scheduled to air in 74 countries all over the world, with the earliest release date set at May 1 in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Succeeding releases, including that of North America and other major territories are slated in the coming months.

While the film's release was prioritized in home territory Japan, 'Resurrection of F' actually debuted in Los Angeles, California last April 11 at the Egyptian Theater in a special screening event. The event was handled by Funimation Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, and TOEI Animation and screened the film in its native Japanese language but with English subtitles.

Anxious anime fans from different parts of the world are no doubt excited to see the latest effort from TOEI and company, but an exact release date has yet to be set for the majority of the territories. Still, given the success of the film in Japan, expect the film to be released in more territories in short order.

In related news, Funimation announced at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo that 'Ressurection of F's' main villain Frieza will be voiced by Chris Ayers in the international version. The veteran voice actor previously voiced Frieza in Dragon Ball Z and various related video games and should be a welcome addition to the voice dubbing team. In particular, Ayers' work with the newest Golden Frieza form should be something to look forward to.

At this point, expect other voice acting announcements as the film inches closer to its various international release dates.
