'Fallout 4' DLC rumors: 'Far Harbor' may be introducing more underwater gameplay

(Bethesda)

"Fallout 4" may be taking players underwater after all.

Prior to Bethesda officially announcing their DLC plans for the open world game, players had begun to speculate that the post-launch content would involve underwater features of some kind.

To this point, however, it's still unclear exactly what the upcoming DLC packs will be adding to the game, but recent data-mining efforts by one fan may have just revealed some of the contents of the "Far Harbor" expansion and the findings point to underwater gameplay becoming a more integral part of the open world experience.

Reddit user "WilliamWallace2K14" recently shared some interesting finds after poring through the game files of the upcoming "Far Harbor" DLC, and among the most intriguing discoveries is one about what looks to be a giant squid.

On top of that, the Reddit user also uncovered more interesting lines within the game files that are seemingly referencing the previously discovered harpoon gun.

If the fan's findings are indeed legitimate, then they could be pointing to some of the gameplay aspects of "Far Harbor. The findings could even be hinting at underwater combat and exploration becoming a more meaningful part of "Fallout 4."

Bethesda's official description of "Far Harbor" also points to the possibility that the underwater world is indeed becoming a bigger part of the game. As can be seen on their web site, "Far Harbor" will be taking players to an island that is located off the coast of Maine, a location that is likely to be surrounded by water.

"Far Harbor" has already been described as the largest add-on landmass ever offered by Bethesda, and it may turn out to be even bigger once players take a look beneath the waves.

"Fallout 4's" "Far Harbor" DLC is expected to be made available in May, though an exact release date has yet to be announced.
