Samsung has been pushing out a steady stream of budget and mid-range devices over the past few years and one of these is due to arrive in the United States shortly. News about this particular smartphone, the Galaxy On5, emerged when it appeared in data released by the carrier MetroPCS.

The news about the Galaxy On5 arriving in the United States emerged when the device was featured in a price list that was released for use in the carrier's stores. However, this smartphone from Samsung was not the only one featured on the list, with the recently released LG Stylus 2 Plus also finding a place on it. This particular price listing, which was released internally within the carrier, was leaked by a tipster to the PocketNow website. The list also clearly indicated that the Galaxy On5 would have a price of $60 when it releases in the United States.

In the list, the $60 price tag which is on the Galaxy On5 is a result of an instant rebate of $70 implemented on the device's original full price of $129. The instant rebate comes into effect when the device launches on the 27th of June. More importantly, so far, the budget-priced lineup of On5 and On7 which Samsung launched last year has largely remained confined to Asian markets.

The On5 is mostly comprised of plastic and has a rear panel which is made from faux leather. The device also has a great look as it comes with thin bezels and a frame which gives it a sleek appearance. As for the hardware on board the On5, it has an Exynos 3475 chipset which is coupled with a quad-core CPU with Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz and a Mali-T720 GPU. RAM onboard the device is at 1.5GB and there is an 8-megapixel camera at its rear and a 5-megapixel version in front. Coming to its display, it measures 5 inches and there is 8 GB storage onboard which can be expanded via a microSD slot.
