iPad Pro 2 release date rumors: Tablet to have A10X chipset for 2017 release

(Apple)The recently released iPad Pro with its 12 and 9-inch variants that came out last March 31.

Apple is rumored to introduce a new version of the iPad Pro this year. Although the company recently released a refreshed version of the 12.9-inch tablet, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, it is now speculated that a new iPad Pro is in the works.

It may be too soon to have a new iteration from the lineup, but according to PC Advisor, the tablet may be introduced late this year. There was no specific release date targeted but it is believed that the announcement about the new iPad Pro may come once Apple releases the new iOS 10 to the public. A March 2017 release date is likely for the device since the iPad Pro 9.7 was released in March this year.

Meanwhile, the next iPad Pro is rumored to have impressive specs that should make for a much better user experience. As mentioned in the report from The Motley Fool, the iPad Pro will likely ship with an A10X chipset. Given that Apple will use this chipset, it is also less likely for a new iPad Pro to come out this year.

The report explained that the A10X chipset to be made by Taiwan Semiconductor won't go into mass production until late this year to early next year, which makes a 2017 release for iPad Pro more likely.

Other rumors include a 256 GB storage capacity for the next tablet. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro had the same capacity and it is believed that the refreshed model will retain the 256 GB storage.

The True Tone display is also expected to be part of the new iPad Pro, along with the 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front HD camera and 4K video quality. The device is also likely to be offered in Rose Gold color since most of Apple's devices have that color.

All these reports, and even the existence of a new iPad Pro, have yet to be confirmed by Apple. Until then, they should be taken with a grain of salt.
