While the iPad Pro has been receiving middling reviews, other devices that also follow the same tablet/laptop hybrid model have been arriving on the scene and one such is the more affordable Pixel C from Google. Here is how these two compare in a face off.

Design

The reviews of the iPad Pro have not all been bad as TIME describes it as the best computer ever made, but it is clear that the big tablet from Apple has several drawbacks. One of its pain points is that it does not have a physical keyboard and instead has one that is made from fabric and priced at $169. However, the Smart Keyboard is essential if the tablet, which has an aluminum body, has to be converted into a laptop. Additionally the iPad Pro, in spite of its great design, does not have a kickstand and here it has to rely fully on the keyboard. The Apple Pencil, meanwhile, is a great tool if users want to create detailed drawings on the iPad Pro but it has to be bought separately. Compared to this, the Google Pixel C is also primarily a tablet without a kickstand. It is made from aluminum and its optional keyboard, which costs $149, does not have a track pad. In terms of size, however, the iPad Pro is bigger.

Display

When it comes to display size, the iPad Pro is bigger and has a 12.9-inch version with a resolution of 2732 x 2048 pixels and has a density of 264 pixels per inch. Compared to this, the Pixel C has a 10.2-inch display and it has a resolution of 2560 x1800 pixels, along with a density of 308 pixels per inch.

Specs

On the iPad Pro is an A9X chipset and an M9 motion coprocessor, which is quite fast and manages to stand up well against laptops and beat many. As for the Pixel C, it has an Nvidia X1 chipset along with a quad-core CPU and a Maxwell GPU and so it lags behind its competitor.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the Google Pixel C and also on the iPad Pro. Coming to onboard storage, the device from Google has 32 GB or 64 GB while the iPad Pro has either 32 GB or 128 GB. In terms of RAM, the iPad Pro has 4 GB and the Pixel C has 3 GB onboard.

Price

The cheapest Google Pixel C is priced at $500 without any keyboard included, while the iPad Pro costs $799 without the Smart Keyboard or the Apple Pencil stylus.
