There are few devices that can take on the iPhone 6s in terms of design and style, but Chinese manufacturers are increasingly creating metal-bodied devices which might just be able to. One of them is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Here is how these two smartphones fare in a faceoff.

Design

In terms of design, the Redmi Note 3 is quite similar to its competitor and comes with a metal unibody. CNET described the premium look as a pleasant surprise. The edges of the device are rounded and it has a fingerprint scanner on its back panel. The Redmi Note 3 comes in three colors: silver, gray and gold. The iPhone 6s, on the other hand, also has a metal body, but it has distinctive antenna lines on its rear panel and its fingerprint scanner is incorporated into the front home button. The device has Apple's iconic design and comes in gold, silver, rose gold and gray.

Display

The Redmi Note 3 has an LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches, a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 403 pixels per inch, while the iPhone 6s has an IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches, a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch. Size-wise, the Redmi Note 3 clearly takes the cake.

Specs

The chipset on the iPhone 6s is better as it is an A9 version. This is coupled with a CPU with two cores and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. As for the Redmi Note 3, it has a Mediatek Helio X10 chipset that is coupled with octa-core CPU and a PowerVR G6200 GPU.

Memory

When it comes to memory slots, both these devices have none so there is no chance of external storage being added. As for RAM, there is either 2GB or 3GB onboard the device from Xiaomi while the iPhone 6s has 2 GB.

Camera

The camera on the iPhone 6s is at 12 megapixels and has been ranked well. However, the Redmi Note 3 boasts 13 megapixels on its camera.

Price

With a two year contract, the 16 GB iPhone 6s costs $199 while the 16 GB Redmi Note 3 costs $140 unlocked.
