'Law and Order SVU' season 17 updates: comeback for Greg Yates; 3 cast members expecting

"Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU)" has been dubbed the most fertile show on Earth, with three of its cast members expecting babies at the same time. Aside from that, news that the show is still on track for its season 17 production has delighted fans.
The second show in the "Law and Order" franchise, "SVU" is returning for season 17 this September. According to reports, the show is on schedule and have signed most cast members including Ice-T (Odafin Tutuola), Kelli Giddish (Amanda Rollins), Peter Scanavino (Dominick Carisi, Jr.), and Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson), who are all making a return for the new season.
The Hollywood Reporter hints at what is to come in the upcoming season of the crime and police procedural drama. Former "The Walking Dead" actor, Dallas Roberts, will return as serial killer, Greg Yates, for the pilot episode. Since Yates is already imprisoned following a guilty decision in his murder of Nadia (Stella Maeve), there are still no details as to how "Law and Order: SVU" will be bringing the character back.
Fans of the show will remember Yates in the "Law and Order: SVU"-"Chicago P.D." crossover as a serial killer fashioned after real-life Ted Bundy. The character was formerly based in New York and transferred to Chicago, who brought with him his horror trail of rape and murder of young women.
Aside from the plot and storyline news, "Law and Order: SVU" also brings forth baby fever news for the cast members. Ice-T and wife Coco are pregnant with their first child while Giddish just wed Lawrence Faulborn and is already pregnant with their firstborn. A few days after the announcement of these two pregnancies, Scanavino confirmed that his wife, Lisha, is pregnant with their second child.
All the pregnancy news made showrunner, Warren Leight, to start a running joke on Twitter, #SVUNursery and #SVUMostFertileDramaThereIs.
"Law and Order: SVU" pilots season 17 on Sept. 23, 2015.
