Law and Order: SVU throws light on Detective Rollins' past in Atlanta

The return of Law and Order: SVU returned with an awaited episode called "Forgiving Rollins," about Detective Amanda Rollins' shady past when she was in Atlanta.
The latest episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, saw the history and hardships of Detective Amanda Rollins in Atlanta that ultimately made her take a break from the New York Police Department.
In the episode, which was set in Atlanta, Chief Deputy Patton was introduced during a time when Rollins visited Atlanta on assignment with Fin for the Pattern Seventeen case. Patton was accused of rape in the episode with the police officer he was with, Detective Reese Taymor, who was found lying on the bathroom floor of the hotel room she was in. Patton then said that he had a relationship with Taymor, and that the sex that night was consensual.
Patton claims that Taymor wanted him to leave his wife, and even used Rollins to get out of the situation since he thought that it was Rollins who was putting the accusation of rape together. Patton tried to stain Rollins' reputation by saying that she "got around" while she was in Atlanta, even trying to offer sexual favors so that her sister won't be charged with wire fraud.
Rollins was brave enough to come clean to Dodds and Benson about her past in Atlanta, particularly with Patton. Rollins did say that she was not raped and that she was only taken advantage of.
While trying to go on with her usual day and walking her pet, Rollins noticed a car pull up at her side, and it was one of the men back in Atlanta. The man gave her a difficult time since he believed that it was her who persuaded Reese to accuse Patton of rape. This man also brought up her shady past in Atlanta and did not fail to send insults over her way. Because of this, Rollins lost her temper and became violent.
ADA Barba coached Rollins when it was time for her to make a testimony in court, and that was when Rollins' past came out in the open revealing a rape that happened five years ago.
