LG Stylus 2 Plus specs and features: Better screen resolution, more powerful under-the-hood specs

(LG Newsroom)LG Stylus 2 Plus is the upgraded version of LG Stylus 2, released in February.

LG just launched the upgraded version of the LG Stylus 2, the Stylus 2 Plus, in Taiwan with a global rollout to follow. The LG Stylus 2 Plus will become available to South American, Asian, North American and European markets in the weeks to come.

The official announcement states that the LG Stylus 2 Plus looks the same as the original model, but under the hood, the device packs more powerful specs for a better performance.

The highlights of the upgrade are the device's processor and screen. The LG Stylus 2 Plus performs much faster thanks to its 1.4 GHz eight-core processor. The previous model had a screen resolution of 1280x720, but the new version has a 1920x1080 resolution for a much sharper display, although the screen size remains the same at 5.7 inches.

Photos taken will also be much clearer with the 16-megapixel main camera coupled with a flash on both sides. With the camera specs, images and videos taken under low light conditions look better.

Other specs include a fingerprint sensor, a 3,000 mAh removable battery, 2 GB/3 GB of RAM (which may depend on the region), and an internal storage capacity of 16 or 32 GB, which is expandable with a microSD slot (also varies by region). The device also comes preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device comes in three color options: gold, brown and titan.

LG announced that the stylus comes with a nano-coating that lets users feel as if they're writing on paper when they're using the pen on screen. The stylus now has UX features like Off Memo, Pen Keeper and Quick Memo, which makes the pen all the more useful.

Despite the launch in Taiwan, LG has not mentioned anything about the price of the device yet. However, it is expected that it will vary depending on the region where it will be released.
