LG V20 release date, specs, leaks and update: renders reveal what V20 may look like

(LG)The newest entry to LG's "V" series will be launched in September with Android Nougat.

The LG V20 is now a subject of rumors and leaks after it was announced that it will be the first phone to be shipped with the latest operating system from Android, the Android Nougat.

LG announced that it will officially introduce the V20 on Sept. 6 in an event in San Francisco. Besides the reveal date, the company didn't share anything else. Still, there have been rumors going around that the successor to V10 will have a smaller display measured at 5.5 inches coupled with a 1080p resolution. It is believed to run on a Snapdragon 820 processor and may have either 3 or 4 GB of RAM. On top of that, the storage capacity is said to be offered in both 32 GB and 64 GB with a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Now, new renders from @OnLeaks have been revealed, showing what the LG V20 could look like. As reported by Android Authority, the LG V20 photo reveals that there's a button on the right side of the phone believed to be the same module release button found on the LG G5. In addition, a removable bottom lip similar to G5's has been spotted.

The photos also show that there's a hump on the camera area and the camera might also have a secondary lens. The handset will reportedly measure 7.7 millimeters in thickness, according to Android Authority's sources but the camera part, which is the thickest part of the device, will measure at 8.8 millimeters.

Overall, the LG V20 will be 159.5 millimeters in length and 78.1 millimeters in width. Its height is comparable to its predecessor, but it is definitely narrower than the V10. The power button is still located at the back of the device and it's assumed that a fingerprint sensor is also present. The volume keys are now found on the left side.

As for the internals, there isn't any update so the aforementioned rumored specs still stand. More updates should be given in the weeks leading to V20's launch date.
