LG V10 vs Huawei Mate 8: new phablet from Huawei has the edge

When the Huawei Mate 8 was released, it became evident that many smartphone manufacturers have been leaning towards bigger phablet sized devices. However, LG also has a similar sized device in the form of the V10 and this is how it compares to the Mate 8.
Design
When it comes to premium looks, the Mate 8 has a lot going for it thanks to its full metal body and its rounded edges. Its metal build also makes it quite sturdy; however, it is actually a little smaller than its competitor even though it has a bigger screen. There is also a fingerprint scanner incorporated into its back panel. The device comes in four colors: silver, gold, brown and gray. As for the LG V10, it only has metal on its frame and sides while its back features textured silicone and a fingerprint scanner. However, there is an additional screen on the device which is positioned over the main screen and always remains on. This smaller screen displays favorite apps and contacts, a scheduler and a music player. As for colors, the device comes in black, white, beige and two shades of blue.
Display
The display on the Mate 8 is slightly bigger and it consists of 6.0 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 368 pixels per inch. As for the LG V10, its main LCD screen measures 5.7 inches and has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 515. The smaller screen on the device measures 2.1 inches and has a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels.
Specs
Here, the Mate 8 is ahead as it has the faster HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset and it is coupled with an octa core CPU and a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. On its competitor there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset coupled with a hexa-core CPU and an Adreno 418 GPU.
Memory
The micro-SD slot on the LG V10 supports up to 2 TB of external storage while the version on the Mate 8 supports up to 128 GB. As for RAM, the device from LG has 4 GB onboard and its competitor has either 3 GB or 4 GB.
Camera
On the LG V10, there are actually two 5 megapixel cameras in front and its back has a 16 megapixel camera with OIS, a similar version of which is also present on the Mate 8. As for the front facing camera on the Mate 8 it is an 8 megapixel version.
Price
The price of the LG V10 without a contract is pegged at $672, while the Huawei Mate 8 has a price tag of $580 unlocked.
