'Mad Men' season 7 spoilers: Don Draper sees ghosts; Megan Draper makes an appearance

Critically acclaimed and deliciously complicated "Mad Men" finally premiered the back half of season seven after a grueling wait. Advertising aficionados and devout viewers watched episode eight that saw Don coming to terms with Rachel Menken's death from leukemia. It reminded Don of his own mortal life and reminded us that the advertising man still sees ghosts.
In episode nine, fans will finally glimpse the glamourous life of actress Meghan Draper. AMC released a promotional clip of the upcoming episode "New Business" that sees Don heading over to LA. While it isn't clear if it's for Megan or business (as the episode is titled), it seems plausible to assume she will make an appearance. In the video, Don's secretary asks him if he is going to LA on a whim. Later, she is seen asking him where he had been all week and adding that she was worried about him. Does Don spend time with Megan? What is her story? Promotional photographs show her donning a sleek 1970's attire and flaunting a belly chain, reminiscent of that era's clothing.
But the burning questions that "Mad Men" viewers should be asking now is: why does Don see so many ghosts? Fans recall how Don has seen, in the past, his dead father, Anna Draper, his half-brother Adam, Bert Cooper and now Rachel Menken Katz. All of them dead.
Showrunner Matthew Weiner shared some perspective to TVGuide, saying, "(Death) is on his mind. (People) may not turn on the TV to think about it, but we're all wrestling with mortality. It is the greatest issue of our life." Jon Hamm also noted Don Draper's current stream of thought, revealing, "I think (death) is foremost in somebody's mind when they see that happen. What's it going to be like? It's probably terrifying."
Weiner also explained that, unlike many shows airing today, "Mad Men" doesn't have many explosions, shockers and murders. It deals with everyday issues in people's lives and one's mortality is what everybody thinks about.
"Mad Men" airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
