The final shot that took Pablo Escobar's life in "Narcos" season two has led many to throw multiple questions on the show's future. Now that the great Colombian kingpin has passed away, what will happen to his biggest rival, the Cali Cartel?

First of all, the death of Wagner Moura's Escobar has left a huge scar in the hearts of not just his family but also the remaining people who believed in his cause. His enemies are obviously rejoicing at the thought of having their greatest rival extinguished, but will his death really play well into their hands or will they follow after the infamous drug lord's steps towards downfall?

Rumor has it that the Cali Cartel will now have more grounds in taking over various regions since Escobar is gone and his few remaining people are mostly in hiding and will probably no longer get themselves involved in the chaos.

While many are comparing Escobar's strategies to that of the Cali Cartel's, showrunner Eric Newman clarified that Escobar is very different from his rival drug ring and there should even be no comparison as the great drug lord played his game very differently.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Newman said, "Unlike Escobar, who had positioned himself as an outlaw, Cali was very much a part of the system. While Escobar was a single-cell organism, they were a complex, multicelled organism."

As fans know, Cali had connections with insiders in the Colombian government and it's easy to conclude that they might be more successful after Escobar's death. However, history says the Cali will be taken down by one man.

According to The Los Angeles Times' 2007 in-depth story about the Cali Cartel's downfall two years after Escobar's rooftop death, a man named Jorge Salcedo was a vital force in taking down Escobar's biggest adversary.

The question is: Will Jorge Salcedo's story be told next in "Narcos" season three? Salcedo's journey into the betrayal and his beginnings with the Cali Cartel will surely be intriguing for fans, especially since many would definitely want to see and hear the story of the downfall of the organization which helped bring down their beloved Escobar.

Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for "Narcos" season three.
