'Overwatch' DLC update: Rio 2016-themed skins and game mode confirmed for 2016 summer

(Facebook/Overwatch)Rio 2016-themed skins and map are reportedly coming to the game.

Blizzard has just released a new content update for its game "Overwatch." The developer has confirmed the Rio Olympic-themed DLC for this summer.

"For the next three weeks, we're celebrating the spirit of competition in true Overwatch fashion. Earn special seasonal Loot Boxes, collect over 100 new cosmetic items, and hit the field with your friends in our latest brawl: Lúcioball!" the official announcement reads.

With the update, the Loot Boxes that players buy or earn from the game will have a sports-themed appearance. Besides this, players are also treated with new cosmetic items that conform to the theme, player icons, victory poses, emotes and "some very special skins."

A new game match has also been introduced - the Lúcioball, which gives a futuristic vibe to soccer, bringing a fast-paced three-on-three battle that lasts for about four minutes.

Meanwhile, Blizzard has recently released the latest patch for the game and it features character balance, support for sniper Ana and tweaks for McCree. The official patch notes mentioned that Ana's rate of fire has gone up by 20 percent. The magazine size for her rifle has also been bumped up from 8 to 10.

On the other hand, McCree's damage falloff range from his Peacekeeper rifle's primary fire has been lowered to 10 meters, but the amount of damage falloff remains as is. As explained in the post, this change didn't affect the hero's effective range as it's noted to be still higher compared to when the game first launched. The rate of fire for the Peacekeeper rifle's alternate fire has also been increased to 15 percent. McCree's recovery time for his flashbang, or the time that he can fire again, has been reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.35.

Apart from the tweaks to these heroes, the patch also introduced bug fixes and improved user interface.
