"Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" players have a competition they can look forward to joining later on this month.

The "2016 International Challenge March" will begin on March 25 and registration for the event will start on March 17. The competition is then scheduled to end on March 27.

As of now, 50,000 players are expected to be granted entry into the competition, although the limit may still be changed. Participants will also be selected on a first come, first served basis.

Players interested in joining the event will have to meet a few requirements in order to gain entry.

First off, players must have either a copy of "Pokémon Omega Ruby" or "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" that has a Game Sync ID that is also registered in the Pokémon Global Link.

Interested participants must also be a member of the Pokémon Trainer Club and they must also have a wireless Internet connection.

Lastly, players should know that the birth date indicated in their Pokémon Trainer Club account will be the one used to determine which age group they belong to during the competition. Players found to have registered an inaccurate birth date may be disqualified from the "2016 International Challenge March" as well as from future competitions, according to the Pokémon Global Link website.

The Junior/Senior division will be for players born in the year 2001 or later, while the Masters division will be for participants who were born in the year 2000 or earlier.

The top 256 players in each of the divisions will be given Championship Points that can potentially help them earn a spot in the "Pokémon World Championships" that will be taking place in August. Players who manage to qualify for the "2016 International Challenge March" will also be given 2,000 Poke Miles as a participation gift.

More news about "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" should be made available closer to the start of the "2016 International Challenge March."
