Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) AT&T release date, specs rumors: Budget phone available soon?

The Samsung J1 (2016) is a budget-friendly phone that should be interesting to check out though its availability is still in question.
Revealed last January, the latest device has already made its rounds in Russia a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to reliable tipster @evleaks (Evan Blass), there is a belief that the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) could be making its U.S. debut soon by way of mobile carrier AT&T.

The only hitch is that Blass just tweeted a render with no other details such as official pricing and the actual date when the budget phone would be offered. Speculatively, there is a chance that the device could be offered starting April 1, though that remains unconfirmed.
With just a couple of days to go before April 1 comes around, the Galaxy J1 (2016) is not that impressive though it still stands out as a sensible new phone to consider.
Among the features that this entry-level device holds include a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display (480 x 800 pixels), a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor (1.3 GHz), 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage with expandable options via microSD, a 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera and a 2050 mAh battery.
It will come with Android Lollipop out of the box and will be available in white, black and gold color variants, though it remains to be seen if AT&T will offer all three shades.
With the enumerated specs, the Galaxy J1 (2016) could be a great smartphone for the ones who simply want a new handset for the year. If not, it could be a neat second phone to have for the ones who have more than one line.
Though pricing has not been made official, pricing for the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) could start at around $120. All that could be cleared up in the event that AT&T does unveil it in a couple of days.
