Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge customers under Verizon Wireless have more or less noticed that new update notifications have popped out on the screens of their mobile devices.

This is because Verizon has recently released the latest Android 6.0 M update for the two devices, which means that folks owning a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge can now (or soon) enjoy the much talked about perks that Android 6.0 M brings.

For Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge owners, a software version named MMB29K.G928VVRU2BPC2 should be available for download by now, allowing device owners to enjoy the new functions, such as the Doze feature which will help improve the battery life of the said device.

With the Doze feature, inactive handsets are placed in temporary deep sleep while also pausing apps from running. This should lower the drain on the battery and thus ensures longer use.

Aside from that battery-saving improvement, another thing to look forward to is the Live broadcast feature that owners can use through YouTube. The feature can be enabled by heading over to the camera settings, choosing "Mode" and then "Live broadcast."

Moreover, another neat feature folks can look forward to is the ability to add rich content. That includes seeing stuff like the latest news and sports scores on the device screen.

For the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 owners, the software update should push the device to MMB29K.N920VVRU2BPC2 and should address various issues that the phablet has been known to have.

Among the leading issues are problems connecting to the Internet, data disconnections and proper loading of websites and files.

As common practice for people looking to update their phones to the latest operating system, they should make sure that they have a stable WiFi connection and should properly charge their device by at least 50%. Being an over-the-air update, its availability is likely to be by batches.
