The Galaxy S6 might be considered one of the best Android phones of this year but the LG G4 claims to be a better device thanks to its superior camera. Here is how the curved phablet from LG compares to the redesigned flagship from Samsung.

Design

The LG G4 has an ergonomic curve on its body that runs from top to bottom but it is much more subtle than the version on the G Flex 2. It has a plastic body and uses polycarbonate for its back panel, which comes in three colors, gold, grey and white with ceramic paint. Users who want variety need not fret as the back panel can be easily swapped out with leather panels that come in a variety of natural colors. As for the Galaxy S6, unlike previous flagships from Samsung, it features a metal frame and uses polished Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back. It also has a fingerprint scanner, which its rival does not have. The Galaxy S6 comes in white, gold, blue and black.

Display

The Galaxy S6 has a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch while the LG G4 has a bigger IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch.

Spec

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S6 effortlessly trumps the LG G4, as it has an Exynos 7420 chipset, an octa-core CPU consisting of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU. The LG G4, on the other hand, is equipped a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU comprised of two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU.

Memory

The LG G4 is perfect for users who want more memory as it comes with a memory slot, which allows for the addition of external storage of up to 128 GB. The Galaxy S6 does not allow for the expansion of extrenal storage as it does not come with a memory slot. In terms of RAM, both phones have 3 GB onboard.

Camera

Both phones come with 16 megapixel cameras and the optical image stabilization feature. However, the Galaxy S6 has better aperture, which produces better images than the LG G4.

Price

The LG G4 and the Galaxy S6 are each priced at $199 with a two-year contract.
