After being leaked for several weeks, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active was finally announced by AT&T. However, even as the smartphone was making an appearance on the carrier's website, its design, colors and other details were being discussed widely on the Internet.
Pointing toward the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, The Verge states that as rumored, the device is a rugged version of the flagship S7, which was released this year in February. It goes on to point out that with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, all the beautiful looks and sleek design of the Galaxy S7 has been traded in, and instead, users get a device that can withstand shocks and being dunked in water.
The most striking feature of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is its design and it now comes in three models. One of these is a Sandy Gold model which is expected to be used in desert-like conditions, while another has a Camo Green covering. The third one has a Titanium gray finish.

However, it is waterproof and comes with an IP68 certification, which means it can be dunked in less than five feet of water for 30 minutes. Its build, which mainly consist of polycarbonate and reinforced with padding on the inside, gives the device a (MIL-STD) 810G certification and so it is resistant to rain, vibration and thermal shock.
Running the show on the Galaxy S7 Active is the Snapdragon 820 processor, which is the latest from Qualcomm, and it comes with 4GB RAM. Additionally, there is a microSD slot so external storage can be tacked on. There is also a fingerprint scanner which has been incorporated into the home button.
Another important feature of the device is the huge battery which is a 4,000mAh version and it guarantees that the device will last long on a single charge. Also, the display is a Super AMOLED version measuring 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 576 pixels per inch.
