Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge vs Sony Xperia Z5 specs comparison: Samsung has better hardware and design

With the Galaxy S7 Edge coming with great design and hardware, it is not surprising that it has risen to the top of the smartphone heap. Meanwhile, last year's Xperia Z5 released by Sony has continued to arrive in different markets worldwide and this is how these two phones compare.
Design
The Galaxy S7 Edge is a glass and metal beauty. It has a metal frame and Gorilla Glass on its back panel and its fingerprint sensor is incorporated into its home button. However, its curved screen is its outstanding feature and it can be customized to display apps and contacts on edge in a two column format. Additionally, its back is curved so it can be held easily. Compared to this, the Xperia Z5 is a smaller device but it too has a metal frame with frosted glass on its back panel. As for its fingerprint scanner, it is positioned at the side within the power button.
Display
There is an Always-on display on the S7 Edge and users can see the date, time and notifications when the screen is off. As for the display on the device, it is a Super AMOLED version measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 534 pixels per inch. On the Xperia Z5 is an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 428 pixels per inch.
Hardware
Here, the S7 Edge is again ahead as its international version has a better Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. On the Xperia Z5 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset coupled with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 430 GPU.
Memory
There is a memory slot on each of these devices and each can handle up to 200 GB of external storage. As for RAM, the device from Sony has 3 GB and the S7 Edge has 4 GB.
Camera
Onboard the Xperia Z5 is a 23-megapixel camera while the S7 Edge has a 12-megapixel camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge costs $299 with a two-year contract while the Xperia Z5 costs $514 unlocked.
