'Tekken 7' rumors: Which DLC characters could eventually be added?

(Tekken 7 official website)Who are the other fighters who may join Akuma and Heihachi as members of 'Tekken 7's' roster?

The post-launch plans for the home version of "Tekken 7" are not set in stone just yet, though there's a chance that DLC characters may eventually be introduced.

Earlier this year, producer Katsuhiro Harada already indicated during an interview with Gamereactor that paid DLC is being considered for the upcoming fighting game.

Now, if developers were to go down that route, there would be different ways for them to expand the game post-launch, though probably the easiest way to get fans interested in paid DLC is to offer them an opportunity to add more fighters to the roster.

Still, even if the developers do decide to provide paid DLC and even if they will opt to offer additional characters, they will still have to figure out exactly which characters are worthy of being included in "Tekken 7."

Some fans already have an idea of who they would like to see added to the game at some point.

Over on Twitter, user "@Vedas1789" asked Harada about the still missing Lei Wulong's chances of being added to "Tekken 7."

Harada responded by indicating that Lei still has a chance of being added, though it's still too early to say if he may be considered as a potential DLC character.

For what it's worth, many fans who commented on the tweet also expressed a desire in seeing Lei in the upcoming game.

While support for Lei may be mostly positive among "Tekken" fans, other possible DLC additions may be a bit more divisive.

Currently, the "Tekken 7" roster is still unoccupied by "joke" characters such as Kuma and Roger Jr., so it would seem that they may eventually be considered as DLC additions.

The "joke" characters' cases for potential inclusion may not be as strong as Lei's however, at least if fan support is the main factor that will be considered. During an earlier interview with Siliconera, Harada noted that while some fans appreciate the "joke" characters, there are also others who want nothing to do with them.

Still, there's a chance that offering the so-called "joke" characters as paid DLC additions may even be the best way to integrate them into the game, as that would allow supporters to purchase them while others can simply pass on getting them.

Hopefully, the coming months will offer a little more clarity with regards to the DLC plans for the upcoming game.

"Tekken 7" will be released for the PC, PS4 and the Xbox One early next year.
