"Masters of Sex" returns in only less than a week yet fans are still getting more updates on who else is joining the period drama series for its third season. And the latest addition to its cast is former "The Walking Dead" star, Emily Kinney.

Kinney first appeared in "The Following" and "The Good Wife" and became widely popular as Beth Greene on AMC's "The Walking Dead." She now takes on the role of Nora in season three of "Masters of Sex." Her character used to be Bill (Michael Sheen) and Libby (Caitlin Fitzgerald) Masters' kid neighbor.

She now returns as a 20-year old volunteering as a sex surrogate for Bill and Virginia Johnson's (Lizzy Caplan) research. Entertainment Weekly says of her character, "As a child, Nora was Bill and Libby Masters' neighbor. Now in her 20s, poised and brimming with intelligence, Nora volunteers to become a sex surrogate in the next phase of Masters and Johnson's research." Nora's story will be featured in a multi-episode arc.

It has previously been announced that Sarah Silverman will be returning for season three as the lesbian lover of Betty (Analeigh Ashford). Allison Janney and Beau Bridges are also set to reprise their roles as married couple Margaret and Barton Scully, who are still trying to patch up their marriage in light of Barton's alleged homosexuality and Margaret's attempt at cheating. The show will have a number of recurring guest stars such as Josh Charles and Tate Donovan.

"Masters of Sex" premiered on Showtime last September 2013. It follows the story of Dr. Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson who fall in love with each other as they research human sexuality in the 1950s and 1960s.

Season three of the controversial TV series will have them dealing with a possible three-way marriage with Bill's wife, Libby, and will show a five-year jump from the season two's finale. The sex researchers will also be shown dealing with the fact that they have become celebrities as a result of more people learning about their research.

"Masters of Sex" returns for its third season on Showtime this July 12 at 10pm.
