'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 release date, news & update: Madhouse to take over the project; to focus on Ken Kaneki

(FUNimation official website)"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 may be produced under Madhouse.

The hit Japanese dark fantasy anime series "Tokyo Ghoul" has been highly anticipated to return for a third season. However, there is still no official word from the people behind the anime on the official release date of the episodes.

According to reports, the third season run of "Tokyo Ghoul" is most likely to materialize soon. However, the producers have yet to announce the air date for it. There are speculations that another anime studio, Madhouse, is taking over the project from Studio Pierrot. Apparently, fans of the original manga series were not too fond of the first two seasons of the anime under Studio Pierrot and are expecting a huge change if the series has really been secured by Madhouse.

Reports also reveal that the story arc for the upcoming season will focus on Ken Kaneki and the introduction of a new character, Touka Kirishima. Apparently, Touka acts aloof yet disrespectful toward Kaneki and there could be a backstory as to why she is acting that way.

Other reports also suggest that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will see the complete Kakuja form of Kaneki. Since Kaneki's incomplete Kakuja form is Centipede, which was shown in the previous seasons, his next and full form could be Snake-like. Apparently, clues on Snake-like forms have been dropped in the original source material of the series.

Sources also echoe previous speculations on Madhouse taking over the project. If it is proven to be true, then more violence, blood, and gore can be expected in the upcoming season of "Tokyo Ghoul" since Madhouse is known to bring darkness to its animes.

As for the release date of the anime series, it is speculated that it will be premiering this winter or early next year. However, fans should take all these rumors with a grain of salt.

More details on "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 may come out soon.
