With the Galaxy S7 due to arrive from Samsung on Feb. 21, it is a given that the device is going to be compared to the current iPhone lineup and even more importantly, to the upcoming iPhone 7, which is expected to release in September. Here is how the rumors about these two devices' specs compare in a face-off.

Design

In terms of design, the Galaxy S7 is going to resemble last year's S6 lineup, which means that it will have a metal frame and glass on its back panel. The fingerprint scanner is also expected to remain within the home button, which will be slightly different in shape. However, the Galaxy S7 is rumored to be waterproof and this was also seen in a teaser which was leaked on the Internet recently.

As for the iPhone 7, its antenna lines at the back are expected to be removed and there are indications that Apple will be making the device thinner. Otherwise the device is going to retain its metal unibody and it is also expected to come with waterproofing.

Display

Pressure sensing technology is expected to arrive on the Galaxy S7 and it is expected that the iPhone 7 will also continue with the same in the form of 3D Touch, which appeared on the iPhone 6s lineup. As for the size of their displays, the iPhone 7 could have a 4.7-inch version while the version on the Galaxy S7 could measure around 5.1 inches.

Specs

It is widely thought the Galaxy S7 lineup will have both the Snapdragon 820 chipset and also Samsung's home grown Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipset. As for the iPhone 7, it is expected that the device will come with an A10 chipset.

Memory

When it comes to RAM, the iPhone 7 could move to 3 GB while the Galaxy S7 could have 4 GB. However, when it comes to memory slots, the device from Apple, as per tradition, will not have one, while the microSD slot is expected to return to the Galaxy S7 lineup.

Camera

The Galaxy S7 is expected to feature a new camera which will be able to take better photos in low light conditions and it is expected to be a 12-megapixel version. As for the iPhone 7, it is thought it will also come with a 12-megapixel version when it releases.

Price

In terms of price, the Galaxy S7 is expected to be cheaper than the iPhone 6s and it could also have a price advantage when compared to the iPhone 7.
