Asus ZenPad 3 8.0 specs, release date revealed; Asus tablet resembles Verizon ZenPad Z8

(www.asus.com)The new Asus ZenPad 3 8.0 mostly carries the same specs as the Asus ZenPad Z8 (pictured).

Asus has once again joined the industry of tablets and revealed a new entry in the high-end range of devices.

The new ZenPad 3 8.0 is considered similar to the Verizon-exclusive ZenPad Z8 and serves as its alternative. At the same time, the ZenPad 3 8.0 can also be considered as the ZenPad 3S 10's little brother.

Many of ZenPad 3 8.0's specs are comparable to the Z8 and they include a 7.9-inch LCD screen with a 2048 x 1536 resolution. The tablet also carries a Snapdragon 650 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz.

What makes the ZenPad 3 8.0 different from Verizon's tablet is that it will be available in two variants. One comes with a smaller RAM size at 2 GB, coupled with a 16 GB storage capacity, and the other has a more powerful 4 GB of RAM which is paired with 32 GB of internal storage. Those who want more space can just rely on the microSD slot that allows memory expansion of up to 128 GB.

Other details about the new ZenPad include the camera specs. The cameras are revealed to be a 2-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel main camera. It also features a USB-Type C connection for faster speed of data transfers and rapid charging. Also on board are premium quality audio speakers, a battery at 4,680 mAh - which the company claims will power up the device for about 11 hours after a single charge - and the usual WiFi and BlueTooth 4.0 connectivities.

Also of note is the lifetime offer of 5 GB of cloud storage space given by the Taiwan-based phone maker to its customers. The offer also includes an extra 11 GB that lasts for a year and a two-year 100 GB space in Google Drive.

As for the Zenpad 3 8.0's price, Asus has not announced the details yet and when exactly the tablet will get released. Fans should just wait for more updates. However, since the new enPad is much like its Z8 predecessor, it is likely to be priced at around $250.
