"Criminal Minds" season 11 took a short break after the emotionally exhausting episode 16. But now that fans have been given time to recover from Derek Morgan's kidnapping and near death experience, it's time to celebrate the show's 250th airing with another intense episode.

Episode 16 saw Morgan (Shemar Moore) kidnapped and brutally tortured. Disassociating from the pain being inflicted on him and focusing on his father, Hank (Danny Glover), gave the profiler the strength to survive and figure out a way to help his team find him. But is it really over?

The case might be over, but it doesn't mean Morgan and the BAU are done with it. Unfortunately, the team has a more pressing problem. A synopsis for episode 17, "The Sandman," teases that the BAU will head to Wichita to hunt down an UnSub who abducts children while their parents are asleep. Meanwhile, Morgan is still looking for the person responsible for his attack.

A trailer for the upcoming episode gives viewers a quick glimpse of the UnSub - a man wearing goggles and working on an hourglass. There's a fleeting shot of a young boy before Rossi (Joe Mantegna) is shown talking to Hotch (Thomas Gibson). He mentions the UnSub, whom they've dubbed as the Sandman, giving nightmares instead of dreams. The man is then seen lying among debris, with a hammer in his hand.

A montage of scenes show the different members of the BAU, including Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), as a voice over warns that the team won't see the twist "until the very last second." Ominously, the clip ends with Morgan giving Savannah (Rochelle Aytes) a kiss before the UnSub is shown screaming.

The fact that Savannah was shown has fans worried that she might be attacked by the same group that kidnapped Morgan. As the past seasons have shown, being in a relationship with someone from the BAU can be dangerous at times.

Like the mythological being, this Sandman also sprinkles sand on the eyes of people sleeping. But he twisted it for his own perverse purposes and mixed the sand with glue, sealing shut the parents' eyes while he kidnaps their children.

"The Sandman" is also the series' 250th episode and will be directed by Mantegna. The episode has been described by "Criminal Minds" showrunner Erica Messer as "pretty brutal but it's amazing." The episode is a two-parter, with the conclusion, "A Beautiful Disaster," directed by star Matthew Gray Gubler.

Episode 17 of "Criminal Minds" season 11 is set to be aired on March 16.
