'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 premiere spoilers: Is Celia dead?

Celia Flores was briefly seen in the first half of season 2, but her presence was such that many of the viewers would like to see more of her. Alas, she was seen burned during the midseason cliffhanger … or was she?
In an interview with Daily Dead, actress Marlene Forte talked about her character Celia. She said, "It was a phenomenally written character. We don't get too many of those for women on TV. It was a treat." Celia was the Abigail family's housekeeper who survived the apocalypse. She was met by the protagonists when they reached Mexico and was revealed later on to keep a group of undead in the cellar. She was last seen among the zombies that Daniel has set on fire.
When asked about the possibility of a comeback, she said she hopes that would be the case, "but once you show up on 'In Memoriam,' it's hard. I was like, 'Just let me come back. Am I coming back?'" However, she also added that actor Cliff Curtis, who plays one of lead characters, Travis, said that unless a character is seen killed through his head, one is not really dead.
A fire was seen, but could Celia be alive? Forte would love to reprise her role and many fans of the show would like to see more of her interaction with Nick as well.
Forte likened her character to Dexter. She said, "Everybody loves Dexter, yet he was a serial killer." She said the best about Celia is that she was not only a mother to her son Luis but to the villagers as well. As for the killing the parishioners, "In her mind, poisoning the wafers was a communion. It was moving to the next step. She didn't think she was doing anything wrong."
"Fear the Walking Dead" will resume on Aug. 21.
