Last year, the Galaxy Note Edge captured the attention of many smartphone users with its curved design but it faced fierce competition from the iPhone 6 Plus, when it was released. Here is how the two devices compare.

Design

The iPhone 6 Plus has all the hallmarks of a premium product, including a full metal body and beautiful edges. However, it noticeably is simply a bigger version of its smaller iPhone 6 sibling. As for the Galaxy Note Edge, it has a body made of plastic and a back panel with faux leather but its curved screen that folds over its right edge gives the device an extremely stunning look. In addition, the curved edge is not only a design as it is fully functional. It operates individually from the main screen and displays favorite apps, notifications, news alerts and a night clock.

Display

The display on the iPhone 6 Plus and the Note Edge are of the same size, but the device from Samsung has better quality. The Note Edge has a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.6 inches with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a density of 524 pixels per inch while the iPhone 6 Plus has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch.

Specs

The iPhone 6 Plus is equipped with an Apple A8 chipset, a Cyclone CPU with two cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU while the Galaxy Note Edge has a much better Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

The iPhone 6 Plus is at a disadvantage here as it lacks a memory slot while the version on the Galaxy Note Edge can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, the iPhone 6 lags again as it only has 1 GB while its competitor has 3 GB.

Price

The 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract while the Note Edge costs $399.
