'Grey's Anatomy' season 12 spoilers: Hospital lockdown has Ben breaking hospital rules; Miranda determines whether her husband needs to be punished

(ABC)Miranda deals with the aftermath of husband Ben's reckless actions.

Season 12 of "Grey's Anatomy" airs "There's A Fine, Fine Line" and "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" back-to-back this Thursday night. The two-hour event starts when Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is put on lockdown following the disappearance of a child.

According to the synopsis from ABC, episode 18 titled "There's a Fine, Fine Line" finds Ben trapped in the hallway having to break hospital rules once again to perform an emergency C-section on a pregnant mother but without the necessary surgical equipment.

In a sneak peek released by ABC, the pregnant mother is left critical after the emergency operation done by Ben. Ben tries to defend his actions, but Alex tersely replies that his actions may have cost both the mother's and child's lives. As Alex tries to save the mother's life, Miranda Bailey arrives to pull Ben aside, but when Ben brushes her off, she replies, "Dr. Warren, I'm not asking; Come with me, right now!"

Miranda, who is now Chief of Surgery, must decide on whether her husband's actions were justified given the lockdown and whether his actions will have permanent repercussions. She also continues to grapple with the aftermath of Ben's continued recklessness. Back in episode 13, Bailey was forced to suspend Ben after he had operated on a patient in the psych ward without the proper equipment.

The drama continues in the season's 19th episode titled "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)." Miranda forms an advisory committee to determine the appropriate disciplinary action for Ben.

Meanwhile, April and Jackson will try to put their differences aside and get along for the sake of their child. Also in the episode, Arizona proceeds to make a decision involving their daughter Sophia that could adversely affect her relationship with Callie forever.

Be sure to catch the special two-hour event airing on Apr. 14.

Season 12 of "Grey's Anatomy" airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
