The first ever expansion for the Massive Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) "Guild Wars 2" is almost here. ArenaNet, the developer and publisher of the game, just recently announced that they are now accepting preorders for the expansion dubbed as, "Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns" as reported by Siliconangle.

The price starts at $49.99 for the Standard Edition, $74.99 for the Deluxe Edition and the biggest one, $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition and there is a reason why the price for "Heart of Thorns" expansion is much bigger than the game itself. As stated on Siliconangle, the expansion will come with the core game "Guild Wars 2," which has made it more expensive.

Though new players will benefit from this setup, many veteran gamers think that this is unfair for players who already have the game.

One veteran player shared his views on ANet's announcement regarding the game's pricing on the IP's subreddit. The Original Poster (OP), Crazylegmurphy, said (via Eurogamer) "While $50 is not a huge deal, I think that we should let ANet know that we, the GW2 players that have supported the game for the last three years should be treated at the very least as equal as new players. I think it would be a nice gesture to offer current players a "thank you" in terms of equal value, or more."

Luckily, ANet's forums communication team lead, Gaile Gray, has assured players that they are listening to their concerns and has reached out in response to the negative feedback. She replied to one of the posts in the forums and wrote, "Hey all, we understand that there are many opinions and suggestions about the game versions and the pre-purchase program. We will continue to read your thoughts and thank you for sharing them." She continued, "We will share your input with the team."
