When Motorola announced new phones in its G lineup, the attention of the public was drawn towards the G4 Plus, which has a fingerprint scanner. Here is how this new device from Motorola compares to the iPhone SE, which released from Apple a few months ago.

Design

Here, the iPhone SE is ahead, as it has a full metal body and rounded corners which give it a great look. Additionally, it has the top-notch design elements that are normally associated with smartphones from Apple and also has a fingerprint scanner included in the Touch ID button on the front. As for colors, the device comes in silver gray, silver, rose gold and gold.

Coming to the G4 Plus, it is the first device from Motorola that has a fingerprint scanner that's included just below the screen. However, the device is largely made from plastic but it can be customized on the Moto Maker website where different colored back panels and trim can be chosen. As for its default colors, they are white and black.

Display

The Moto G4 Plus is larger since it has an IPS LCD display measuring 5.5 inches, a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone SE, it has an IPS LCD display measuring 4.0 inches, a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels and a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch.

Hardware

In terms of hardware, the Apple A9 chipset on the iPhone SE, which is coupled with a dual core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU, is more than able to keep up with its competitor. As for the Moto G4 Plus, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, coupled with an octa core processor and an Adreno 405 GPU.

Memory

On the G4 Plus, users can choose from devices with 2GB, 3GB or 4GB  of RAM and the memory slot can support up to 128 GB. As for the iPhone SE, it comes with 2GB RAM and it does not have a memory slot.

Camera

The 16-megapixel camera on the Moto G4 Plus has been rated ahead of the 12-megapixel version on the iPhone SE on the DxOMark site.

Price

Coming to price, the cheapest Moto G4 Plus has a price tag of $200 unlocked while the 16 GB iPhone SE costs $399 unlocked.
