Maddie Ziegler news: return to 'Dance Moms' not confirmed as Ziegler continues to audition for acting roles

Season six of "Dance Moms" commenced filming earlier this month. Abby Lee Miller and her young dancers had recently competed in the Sheer Talent Special Edition Competition last Oct. 10. Though Miller's team emerged victorious, spectators couldn't help but notice the absence of star dancer, Maddie Ziegler.

Zielger, 13, rose to fame after appearing on Lifetime's long-running reality series. However, it was after she became the muse for singer-songwriter, Sia, that her star potential rose astronomically. Her talents were showcased on two of Sia's music videos, "Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart."

Earlier this year, Ziegler revealed that her return to season six of "Dance Moms" was still up in the air. "I don't know if I'm going to do it or not, so it just depends." After making her acting debut on "Pretty Little Liars," Ziegler also expressed her desire to pursue acting. "I've been auditioning a lot and I definitely want to act," she added.

While Ziegler has yet to officially announce whether or not she will be returning to "Dance Moms," it seems that for the time being, Ziegler remains committed to pursuing acting.

The aspiring actress has been spotted in New York filming after she was cast in the film, "The Book of Henry." The Daily Mail spotted Ziegler on set alongside Naomi Watts.

Recently, Ziegler also recently took to her social media to express her excitement after having been nominated for a People's Choice Award. She also asked her followers to vote for her. "I'm so in shock that my name is on the ballot for the People's Choice Awards. Help me get to the next round by voting for me! Link is in my bio," she posted on her Instagram account.

Ziegler is currently nominated in "The Dailymail.com Seriously Popular Award" category going up against celebrities like the Hadid sisters, Cara Delevigne, as well as Caitlyn and Kylie Jenner.
