Good news for "One Punch Man" fans! Despite concerns, the future of the popular manga appears to have been secured, and the second season of the hit anime might be returning to TV screens in a few months' time.

"One Punch Man" revolves around Saitama, a hero who defeats various villains and monsters with just one punch. Unfortunately for the strong warrior, people dismiss his exploits and even doubt his capability because of his humble persona and simple visage.

Created by a writer who goes by the moniker One, "One Punch Man" started out as a webcomic, before Yusuke Murata's digital remake of the manga made it a viral success. Aside from its weekly publication, the manga was soon adapted for TV and subsequently aired to immense popularity in late 2015.

The show's first season ended with Saitama defeating Lord Boros. With that victory, fans have now begun to wonder what comes next for the one-punch hero. Of course, it goes without saying that manga fans might have an inkling as to what story arc will follow next. But Madhouse, the studio responsible for adapting the character on TV, hinted that it might take the second season in another direction.

Yusuke previously revealed that his team had already begun working on the next season. It has also been said that the show would be adapting the manga's "Hero Hunter" arc in season 2. If there's truth to the speculation, then fans can expect their favorite bald fighter to go head-to-head against Garou, a fighter who studied under "Silver Fang," a class S hero.

There are also other rumors that have surfaced. For instance, some reports say that aside from Garou, Saitama will allegedly have to deal with another enemy — Amai Mask. The erstwhile hero might also decide to join the other side and become a villain instead or the show's writers might opt for a time jump.

"One Punch Man" season 2 will reportedly be aired sometime in October. However, it should be noted that no official release date has been announced and nothing has been confirmed with regard to the plot.
