It is likely that Samsung is close to releasing a new 10-inch tablet in the market. This much was clear when the particular tablet, which has the model number SM-T585, appeared in a benchmark site where it was put through a test.

Reporting on the tablet, Android Headlines states that bringing out this particular device right now when the market for tablets is cooling is a gamble for Samsung. Additionally, it appears that the company is quite close to releasing the device as a prototype was put through the GFXBench benchmark test.

As for the information seen in the benchmark test, it revealed that the tablet with the model number SM-T585 would come with an Exynos 7870 chipset. This particular chipset is a homegrown option manufactured by Samsung and it has an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T830 GPU. As for RAM, there is 2 GB on the tablet and in terms of storage, there is 16 GB onboard.

Importantly, industry analysts have been focusing on the hardware which has been included on the SM-T585 tablet and, specifically, its Exynos 7870 chipset. Since the Exynos 7870 chipset was only revealed by Samsung lately, it has not been used on any smartphone and tablet. However, given that the Exynos 7870 SoC is a mid-range option, it is likely that the upcoming tablet will not have any high-end features or design.

Also, the specifications revealed during the GFXBench benchmark test indicated that it would not have NFC onboard, which means that Samsung Pay will mostly probably not be used. As for the rest of the specifications revealed, it indicated that the front facing camera would be 2-megapixel version and the one at the back would be an 8-megapixel version.

Finally, there is no indication when the SM-T585 tablet will arrive in the market, and how it will be branded. It could fall within the Galaxy Tab E or Galaxy Tab A range.
