'The Originals' season 3 spoilers: Elijah and Finn arrive at Mystic Falls in episode 17, Klaus and Hayley work together in 'Behind the Black Horizon'

"The Originals" crosses over to "The Vampire Diaries" territory in an all-new episode titled "Behind the Black Horizon." Elijah and Finn Mikaelson head to Mystic Falls after their sister Freya is kidnapped.
In the upcoming episode, a dangerous new threat has kidnapped Freya, who seems to be an integral part of his plan. Based on the promo, this new foe has come to Mystic Falls — the birthplace of the Originals — in hopes of turning himself into not only an Original but an upgraded version of the Originals.
As the sparring brothers arrive at Mystic Falls, will they be able to put aside their differences in order to save their sister's life? Unfortunately, their plan is further complicated when they run into deputy Matt Donovan. They will not get a warm welcome as Matt does not take kindly to new vampires arriving in his town.
Meanwhile, back in New Orleans, Klaus and Hayley work together to uncover the motive behind Lucien's secret agendas.
According to executive producer Michael Narducci, it seems that Klaus and Hayley are finally starting to move past their past conflicts and are moving toward reconciliation.
"We're putting these two characters in a place where they're allowed to start to heal a little bit. We're going to see them use humor and reasoned arguments, as opposed to screaming matches, to voice their opinions. In some ways, it's like watching a married couple — or maybe a divorced couple — argue about how they want to deal with family issues like childcare and what's best for the family," Narducci told TVLine.
Also in the episode, Davina starts to see a troubling shift in Kol's behavior that might hinder their future together.
Be sure to catch "Behind the Black Horizon" airing on Apr. 8.
Season 3 of "The Originals" airs every Friday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
