'Blindspot' season 2 episode 5 spoilers: Allie will be in danger during a mission

(Facebook/Blindspot)Jane continues to play double agent, but both parties are unsure of her loyalty in "Blindspot" season 2.

The FBI will go after an Irish mob on "Blindspot" season 2 episode 5 but, during the mission, Allie gets shot and is in danger of losing her life.

The trailer for the next episode, titled "Condone Untidiest Thefts," starts with the scene where Allie (Trieste Kelly Dunn) tells Kurt (Sullivan Stapleton) that they are having a baby. Jane (Jaimie Alexander) is then shown telling Kurt that she always thought he would make a good father. Patterson (Ashley Johnson) then unlocks another code in one of Jane's tattoos where a series of numbers points to the Irish mob.

During the shootout, Allie goes behind Jane, but she gets hit by a bullet. Jane tends to her as she seemingly is about to lose her consciousness. Jane says, "Allie stay with me," as her voice fades away. The last scene shows Jane crying with blood in her hands.

Fans of the show have been waiting for Kurt and Jane to be romantically involved with each other. While the possibility has been constantly teased since the show began, the events that surround them and the seemingly constant question of trust drive the two characters away from each other.

There are many speculations as to what happens to Allie, who at this point, looks like the biggest hindrance to a possible relationship between Kurt and Jane. Many think that Allie will die to give way for the two to get together. However, given the circumstances, Kurt might actually resent Jane thinking she had something to do with Allie getting shot. Another popular speculation suggests the baby inside Allie's womb might die. In effect, losing their baby would draw the couple apart.

However, in an interview with InStyle, Stapleton was asked about his character becoming a father in the series, and he said, "That was actually one of the nicest surprises that I've ever read in a script." He continued, "I like the fact that our writers explore the personal lives of these characters. And I think it will be nice to see a softer side of Kurt."

Will the season see Kurt become a father or will losing one or two of the most important people in his life become the center of another emotional plot?

"Blindspot" season 2 episode 5 airs on Oct. 12, Wednesday, at 8 p.m. on NBC.
