'Destiny: Rise of Iron' DLC latest news: 'Wrath of the Machine' raid theme is collision

(Facebook/DestinyTheGame)The “Destiny: Rise of Iron” expansion pack is slated to come out on Sept. 20 for PS4 and Xbox One.

A few weeks from now, game developer Bungie will finally roll out the fourth and major expansion for the first-person shooter video game "Destiny" called the "Rise of Iron."

According to reports, the "Rise of Iron" DLC will be introducing brand-new features and new raid. The upcoming raid will be called the "Wrath of the Machine," which is the main event of the expansion. Bungie lead raid designer Gavin Irby said that the Wrath of the Machine's theme is collision.

In an interview with Gameinformer, Irby explained, "We started with some highfalutin' ideas and literary themes that we were trying to achieve, and through iterations it actually became about smashing s— into other s—.The Fallen faction with the SIVA, that's partly where that comes from, the hybridization and the idea of these two things coming together, that's some of the s— smashing into other s—."

Irby also talked about "Destiny's" previous raids like Vault of Glass, which is similar to that of the Raid Middle School. However, the upcoming "Wrath of the Machine" raid steps up when it comes to difficulty and it may even have way more action than fun.

As for the DLC's plot, it was previously announced that it will see the last Iron Lord, Lord Saladin, leading the players while they uncover the history of the Iron Lords and reclaim the Felwinter's Peak. The players will also have to put an end to the evil that Iron Lords had sealed and replace them to become the new Iron Lords.

However, the journey will not be easy since one of the five enemy races, The Fallen, has managed to go through the protective Wall around the last safe city on Earth. The Fallen possesses the SIVA virus, a product of nano technology, which is a weapon that no one had anticipated.

The "Destiny: Rise of Iron" expansion pack is slated to come out on Sept. 20 for PS4 and Xbox One.
