'Law & Order: SVU' season 18 spoilers: When will Rollins and Carisi start dating?

There is still a huge possibility of romance between good friends Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) in the next half of the current season of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
Fans of the long-running NBC series cannot help but comment on the chemistry between the two SVU agents. Showrunner Rick Eid previously revealed that they were not closing doors on the characters being romantically involved. Rollins and Carisi are currently enjoying a chaste relationship. There have been times when they appeared to be considering whether to take a leap of faith and consider dating each other, but it has not happened yet. Rollins is busy with childcare, whereas Carisi is considering a job in the District Attorney's Office. Will they ever consider romance?
"They've got a great relationship, that dynamic continues and we'll explore the possibility of that becoming something more. ... It is possible that it could morph into something more, but it's one of those relationships that would morph out of such a profound respect and friendship. We may see that and we may not [Laughs]. Right now, it's just two good friends, two coworkers that like and respect each other and have an easy, natural shorthand between them," the EP teased in an Entertainment Weekly interview.
Meanwhile, another couple in the series who have been receiving much attention are Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Tucker (Robert John Burke). The captain has yet to ask for her hand in marriage. Many viewers were expecting him to pop the question soon, especially when he told Benson he was there to stay while watching her adopted son playing in the park. Speculations claim that a wedding between the two may still happen in the second half of season 18. Benson has been alone for so long. Tucker is the only man who has made her feel loved and cared for in a long time. Is it time to see her walking down the aisle?
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will return on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
