For the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, Lenovo has unleashed a portfolio full of innovative and next-generation devices including the newest member of the Yoga family, the Yoga 900S convertible laptop. According to Lenovo, it is the "world's thinnest ultraportable convertible laptop."

Though the Lenovo Yoga 900 was just unveiled a few months ago, its successor comes with some improvements. The latest convertible laptop uses carbon fiber, which allows it to be ultra-slim and lightweight. It is only 12.8 mm thin and weighs 2.2 pounds. Compared to its predecessor, it is 15 percent thinner and 11 percent lighter.

Improvements in size and weight were also made possible by redesigning and refining Lenovo's signature 360-degree watchband hinge. The Yoga 900S can be transformed into four modes – as a traditional laptop, tablet, flat and stand.

The Lenovo Yoga 900S features a 12.5-inch Quad HD display with a 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. It is powered by the second-generation Intel Core m7 processor and the Intel HD graphics. The convertible laptop can have up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of SSD.

The convertible laptop comes with the Windows 10 OS. It is equipped with the Dolby Audio Premium sound system for an immersive entertainment experience.

The Yoga 900S also comes with improved battery life. According to Lenovo, the convertible laptop provides up to 10.5 hours of video playback. In comparison, the Yoga 900 provides nine hours.

Thus, the Yoga 900S is suitable as a travel companion. Users can watch movies, scan their social feeds or play games. The Lenovo Yoga 900S also supports an active pen, which allows users to sketch or take down notes.

In terms of ports, the convertible laptop comes with a USB 3.0 Type A port and a USB 3.0 Type C port.

The Lenovo Yoga 900S will be available to purchase by March. Prices start at $1,099. It will be offered in two colors – Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver.
