Although many avid viewers of "Wentworth" thought that Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) already died in the season 4 finale of the Australian series, the latest reports suggest that the character survived the attack on her and will be back for the series' upcoming season 5.

Many fans of "Wentworth" were enraged after Cormack's character was stabbed multiple times by Joan "The Freak" Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) on the series' previous season. Since then, "Wentworth" fans believed that the fan-favorite character is already dead. However, the latest in the rumor mill is that Bea Smith is not actually dead but is just recuperating in a hospital ICU. Hence, she will still be part of "Wentworth" season 5.

Speculations on Cormack's return on the show have even been bolstered when it was learned that, back in July, the actress tweeted that "Wentworth" has been renewed for a fifth season. She followed the said tweet with the hashtags #goodnews and #feelingblessed, insinuating that she will still be a part of "Wentworth" season 5, despite her character's apparent death on the series, which is considered to be the Australian counterpart of the hit Netlfix series "Orange Is the New Black."

While it is now believed that Cormack will, indeed, return to "Wentworth," there are those who are skeptical whether she really survived the stabbing incident. While some think that the series may still feature the character, it is speculated that Bea actually died, and the character will just be featured via flashbacks. In fact, Bea's lover on the series, Allie (Kate Jenkinson), is expected to avenge her death in the upcoming season 5 of "Wentworth," which was hinted by Jenkinson herself.

"People are going to want revenge. Specific people (points at self). If you want to see justice for Bea, then watch season five. And long game, I don't know what's going to happen in season five. As a viewer—because I'm a fan of the show as well — I want to see what happens to The Freak! I want to see her get what she's got coming," Jenkinson told After Ellen last August.
