'Homeland' season 6 spoilers, recap: Quinn still hanging on; Carrie's mood swings are back
"Homeland" season 6 will eventually be a goodbye for elite CIA agent Peter Quinn, who is portrayed by Rupert Friend in the television political series.
It has been revealed that Quinn eventually will live to tell the tale of last season's nightmare, according to Showtime Programming President Gary Levine via Vanity Fair.
"Quinn is severely damaged. There is no question about that. So the life-or-death question remains, but it will not be—if he should live, it will not be in any way, shape, or form the way he has lived to date," Quinn revealed neither confirming nor denying the demise of Friend's character.
It was also mentioned by co-creator Howard Gordon on The Hollywood Reporter the prospect of Quinn coming back to the television series despite a harrowing exposure to sarin gas in episode 9.
"The way we're thinking about bringing him back — if he does come back — is really exciting to me personally," Gordon gave his two cents.
Meanwhile, Claire Danes, who portrays CIA case officer Carrie Mathison, will have her mood swings return to the frontline in the opening episodes for season 6, as mentioned by creator Alex Gansa to The New York Times.
"This season, I'm particularly proud of the third episode in which Carrie decides to go off her medication in an attempt to connect to her genius. We tend every season to touch the subject of her condition, and to weave it into the story, and some people wish we didn't do that," Gansa revealed.
The upcoming season will now be closer to home as the story arc will relocate to New York.
Season 5 had a lot to empty out especially in the finale wherein Carrie and Qasim were able to stop the chemical weapon planned terrorist attack by Bibi, as all the jihadis were picked up with Qasim in his final breathe thanking Carrie for rescuing Quinn.
