With the Apple Watch bringing in a lot of sales for the company, it was thought that no other smartwatch would be able to beat it. However, after the launch of the Fitbit Blaze, it has become apparent that it is going to be the top competitor for the Apple Watch and this is how these two devices compare.

Design

In terms of design, the Apple Watch has a lot more options for users to choose from. It comes as a midrange Apple Watch, the cheapest Apple Watch Sport, and the solid gold Apple Watch Edition. The cheapest Apple Watch comes with an aluminum case, while the midrange version is made from stainless steel. Users can choose from versions in gray, silver, black, steel, rose gold, and yellow gold. Additionally, the Apple Watch comes in two sizes, a smaller 38 mm model for women and a bigger 42 mm model for men. Apple has also released a number of straps for the device and these come in a variety of colors and are made from fluoroelastomer, steel, nylon, and leather. Coming to its water and dustproof rating, the device has an IP67 certification but can only withstand splashes of water.

The Fitbit Blaze comes with a square body much like its competitor and it is made from steel. There are default bands available for the device and these are made from elastomer, but these can be changed out easily with alternate versions available in the market. The default bands come in three colors, but there is also a leather version and a steel version available. When it comes to water and dustproof ratings, the Fitbit Blaze is only resistant to splashes, rain, and sweat and cannot be submerged fully. Overall, the device looks masculine and the edges are angular instead of rounded, and it is only available in one size. As for colors, the device comes in silver and black.

Display

On the Fitbit Blaze is a display measuring 31.75 mm and it has a resolution of 240x180 pixels. Additionally, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is layered over it for protection. As for the Apple Watch, it has an AMOLED display with the smaller model having a 1.32-inch version with a resolution of 340 x 272 pixels. Coming to the bigger model, it has a display measuring 1.5 inches with a resolution of 312 x 390 pixels.

Hardware

When it comes to hardware, the Apple Watch has a S1 system on chip and 8 GB onboard memory. As for the Fitbit Blaze, its processor and memory have not been revealed.

Sensors

The Apple Watch comes with an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, and accelerometer. On the Fitbit Blaze is a heart rate sensor, gyro sensor, 3-axis accelerometer, and an altimeter.

Price

Comparing price, the cheapest Fitbit Blaze is priced at $200, while the Apple Watch starts at $300 and goes up to $17,000.
