'Final Fantasy 15' news: Get to know the game's main antagonist, Ardyn Izunia

Fans looking forward to the arrival of "Final Fantasy 15" have likely learned a lot already about Noctis and his closest friends, but much about the man who figures to be their main opponent is still shrouded in mystery.
The game's main antagonist is expected to be Chancellor Ardyn Izunia.
Ardyn is a mysterious fellow, but one seemingly incapable of ever losing his cool.
Still, even if Ardyn himself is a largely unknown figure, he is one who holds an important role inside "Final Fantasy 15," and not just because he is expected to become the new role-playing game's main villain.
As is noted over on the game's official website, Ardyn is an important political figure and one who has significant influence over the actions of the Niflheim Empire, and that puts him in a position to manipulate different people, though exactly what he intends to do with all that political clout remains unclear.
It's also unclear exactly what kind of magical power Ardyn will be able to wield inside the upcoming game.
Ardyn possesses a certain kind of devious quality that makes him appear somewhat similar to other notable villains in the "Final Fantasy" franchise.
His somewhat eccentric nature is reminiscent of "Final Fantasy 10's" Seymour Guado, while his ability to also use politics to get things to work in his favor is similar to what Kefka Palazzo was able to pull off inside "Final Fantasy 6."
Those two are some of the more memorable villains ever produced by the "Final Fantasy" franchise, so there's a lot for Ardyn to live up to if he is to also go down that path of being an evil and eccentric antagonist.
Fans will be able to find out more about how the mysterious Ardyn will antagonize Noctis and his friends, as soon as "Final Fantasy 15" is officially released on Nov. 29.
