iPhone SE vs Galaxy S7 specs comparison: Smaller iPhone SE can keep up with larger Samsung rival

Apple has a new 4-inch iPhone this year and it has been setting the Internet alight. However, it has a bigger competitor in the market in the form of the Galaxy S7 and this is how these two smartphones fare in a comparison.

Design

When it comes to design, the iPhone SE comes with a full metal body and so it has a solid build and a premium look. There is a Touch ID, along with a fingerprint scanner on the device and it is incorporated into the home button, but it is an older version when compared to the iPhone 6s that released last year. When it comes to colors, the iPhone SE comes in gray, silver, gold, and rose gold. The Galaxy S7 from Samsung is, however, a bigger device and it comes with a metal frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on its back panel. It also has its fingerprint scanner incorporated into its home button and the device comes in four colors — white, black, silver, and gold. Importantly, the Galaxy S7 has an IP 68 rating and so it is water and dust proof.

Display

There is an IPS LCD screen measuring 4 inches on the iPhone SE and it has a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch. As for the Galaxy S7, it has an Always On Super AMOLED display that measures 5.1 inches and has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 577 pixels per inch.

Hardware

On board the iPhone SE is an Apple A9 chipset, which is coupled with a dual-core processor and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. The international version of the Galaxy S7 comes with the Snapdragon 820 chipset and is coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the iPhone SE, while the version on the Galaxy S7 supports up to 200 GB. As for RAM, the device from Apple has 2 GB on board, while the Galaxy S7 has 4 GB.

Camera

Coming to the camera, there is a 12-megapixel version on the iPhone SE, while the Galaxy S7 also has a 12-megapixel version.

Price

Comparing price, the iPhone SE costs $399 unlocked, while the Galaxy S7 costs $199 with a two-year contract.
