'Persona 5' news: New trailer introduces fans to Futaba Sakura, the Phantom Thieves' Navigator

Futaba Sakura is a member of "Persona 5's" Phantom Thieves, and while she may not be the most formidable fighter, she is still an incredibly valuable ally inside the game.
Developers shared more details about Futaba in a recently released trailer, and fans can see just how she can continue to help her friends even though she isn't directly involved in battles.
Instead of being an active battle participant, Futaba stays in the sidelines and assists her allies by providing them with helpful stat boosts.
With the aid of her trusty Persona Necronomicon, Futaba can give her friends that badly-needed boost that they may need to overcome a particularly powerful foe.
As Push Square pointed out, Futaba possesses a role inside the game that is quite similar to the one Fuuka Yamagishi occupied in "Persona 3" and to the one Rise Kujikawa took on in "Persona 4."
This role is that of the Navigator. The Navigator often provides assistance by helping guide the other characters through dungeons and also by providing stat boosts, as mentioned earlier.
Aside from acting as the Navigator for "Persona 5's" Phantom Thieves, Futaba also plays an essential role in the game from a storyline standpoint.
Over on the game's official website, Futaba is described as having "extremely poor" interpersonal communication skills, so fans will be given a chance to see her come out of her shell as she grows closer to the other members of the Phantom Thieves.
Futaba's first encounter with the Phantom Thieves is also hinted at as being quite unusual - something players will have to see for themselves once they get their hands on the new role-playing game.
Players will be able to learn more about Futaba and the rest of the Phantom Thieves as soon as "Persona 5" is released in North America on April 4, 2017.
