With tablet/laptop hybrids becoming the flavor of the year, it was not surprising that Samsung, too, jumped into the market with the Galaxy TabPro S and this is how it fares when it is pitted against the Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft.

Design

Comparing design, the Surface Pro 4 is ahead as it has a metal body that is crafted from magnesium alloy and it has a kickstand included. There is no fingerprint scanner onboard the device from Microsoft but there is one included in the Keyboard. Additionally, there is a Surface Pen available, which is included with the cost of the Surface Pro 4.

As for the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S, it has a metal frame and its back panel is made from plastic but the keyboard for the device is included in its cost. There is also a Bluetooth pen available for the device but it has to be purchased separately.

As for colors, the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S comes in white and black, while the Surface Pro 4 only comes in black.

Display

On the Surface Pro 4 is a 12.3-inch display, which has a resolution of 2736 x 1824 pixels and a density of 267 pixels per inch. As for the Galaxy Tab Pro S, its display measures 12 inches, which has a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels.

Specs

The Galaxy Tab Pro S comes with an Intel Core M processor and it has two cores clocked at 2.2GHz. As for the Surface Pro 4, there is a Skylake Intel Core M3 processor provided, but users can also opt for an Intel i5 or i7 processor.

Memory

In terms of microSD slots, there is one on the Surface Pro 4 and so its memory can be expanded. However, the Galaxy Tab Pro S does not have any such slot. Coming to RAM, the Surface Pro 4 either has with 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB, while its competitor has 4 GB.

Price

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has a starting price tag of $899 with its Surface Pen included, while the Galaxy TabPro S has a price tag of $999 with its keyboard included.
